Adopt a Kakapo!!

This is the closest that anyone can legally come to owning a kakapo!

1

Through New Zealand's Department of Conservation, you can adopt a kakapo!!

You will receive an adoption certificate and updates on 'your' kakapo and how he or she is doing. You also get a plush kakapo, stickers, and bookmarks!

Adoption amounts vary (listed in New Zealand dollars) and you can read about each kakapo who is up for adoption to find the one who touches your heart. You can even renew your adoption to continue being the caregiver of your kakapo!

Recycle Your Cans!

Comalco is a mining and metals company that is ecologically safe and participates in a 'cash-for-cans' recycling program. The company participates in environmental clean-up and habitat restoration, which is just what the kakapo needs! Recycle your cans, get some money back, and help the kakapo!

Donate to Kakapo Recovery Programs!

These organizations work directly with the kakapo and your gift goes straight to kakapo research, field work, and habitat recovery programs.

Activities and projects can vary greatly - please contact the organization of interest directly to inquire about their volunteer needs!
